Our Therapy Services
Dry needling is used for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points. With this technique, Dr. Megan inserts thin needles into or near your trigger points. The needles stimulate your muscles, reduce trigger points, and reduce pain.
Laser Therapy is pain-free and has many healing benefits, such as helping decrease inflammation, increase healing, help improve different rehabilitative exercises. This therapy works well by itself or along with your adjustment or body work.
Ultrasound therapy is a treatment modality that uses sound waves to provide deep heating to soft tissues in the body. It is used to treat musculoskeletal problems like inflammation, pain, swelling, scar tissue, and impaired range of motion. Ultrasound therapy is an instrument-assisted therapy to promote healing and restore damaged tissue.
E-stim therapy for muscle recovery sends signals to targeted muscles to make them contract. (Flexing your biceps is a form of muscle contraction.) By causing repeated muscle contractions, blood flow improves, helping repair injured muscles.
Cupping dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. People get cupping for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Myofascial tissues surround and support the muscles throughout your body. The pain usually originates from specific points within your myofascial tissues called “trigger points.” Myofascial release focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness in the trigger points.
Trigger point therapy involves applying pressure to specific areas in muscles or fascia that are painful, tense, or knotted. These areas are called trigger points. Dr. Megan identifies and releases these points by feeling for tight bands or nodules and using stretching and compression techniques. This therapy would also be scheduled under the myofascia treatment.
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on body treatment that can be useful for infants who have experienced head trauma or difficult delivery. It can also help with nursing and feeding problems, lip, tongue, buccal ties, colic, teething issues, and more. CST involves massaging and lightly touching the bones around the skull to minimize pain, promote growth and immunity, and help babies recover from birth trauma. CST can help newborns gain the full function of their muscles in their head and mouth, leading to realignment and proper latch formation when feeding.
Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. Reiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ to human movement, rather there are many ‘human shapes’ that can accomplish the same movement goals. Dr. Megan assesses your different movement patterns and works with you to improve movement, stability, mobility, and performance.
There are different taping techniques, depending on the goal of the treatment. Dr. Megan asses the area and tapes to best help aid in the healing and performance of the area being treated. This therapy is great for people of all ages, especially our athletes and prenatal clients.
Whether you are looking for weightloss, leaning out, create new health habits, or filling in some nutrition gaps, Dr. Megan has helped many people reach their goals and become more healthy.
